Sheremetyevo customs halted a particularly large drug smuggling attempt: inspectors found 15 vials of tetrahydrocannabinol, psilocybin and related substances in the baggage of a 35-year-old man arriving from India.
He was stopped on the “green” channel during selective control. Among personal items in glass containers labelled PARANA and SLEEP WELL was an oily liquid with a characteristic odour.
Forensic tests confirmed narcotics; total tetrahydrocannabinol mass was 171.99 g.
A criminal case was opened under Article 229.1(4)(b) of the Criminal Code; penalties range from 15–20 years to life imprisonment with confiscation.
