FCS Russia head Valery Pikalyov inspected progress on new road border crossings with China and the DPRK, the service reports.
During a working visit Pikalyov and Deputy Finance Minister Alexey Sazanov toured construction sites at Kraskino and Khasan checkpoints, important for international transport corridors.
The delegation reviewed readiness of the new Kraskino international road crossing. The existing facility handles freight and tourist flows, including organised groups and independent travellers to China.
Tourist traffic is expected to rise ahead of summer holidays and visa-free travel: in Q1 2026 more than 106,000 people crossed at Kraskino, roughly 30% above the same period last year.
At Khasan, Pikalyov checked progress on the new crossing; according to Rosgranstroy, it is due to open in 2026.
A ceremony marked joining the spans of a new road bridge over the Tumannaya River, linking Russian and DPRK banks to expand cross-border transport.
In Khasan District the delegation laid flowers at a memorial to Soviet soldiers killed on 29 July 1938 repelling a Japanese militarist attack on Primorye border guards.
