FCS Russia prevented illegal movement of precious metals and stones worth RUB 1.2 billion in 2025

According to FCS Russia figures, in 2025 the Service prevented individuals from illegally moving precious metals, stones and jewellery worth RUB 1.2 billion.

Authorities recorded 407 violations, with the highest numbers in the Moscow aviation cluster and at the Khabarovsk and North Ossetian customs offices. Precious items were most often imported from the UAE, Türkiye, China and Estonia and exported to China and Türkiye.

One hundred criminal cases were opened — 28% more than in the previous year. Seventy-eight were under Article 226.1 of the Criminal Code (smuggling of strategically important goods), the remainder under Article 194; 84 cases concerned import and 16 export.

Customs also initiated 307 administrative cases: 255 under Article 16.2(1) of the Code of Administrative Offences (failure to declare goods) and 39 under Article 16.3 (breach of prohibitions and restrictions); 243 related to import and 64 to export.
