An FCS Russia press release reports that headquarters and North-West customs stopped a shipment of “40 kg of cocaine from Latin America”.
The anti-smuggling directorate, North-West operational and Baltic customs found 40 bricks of cocaine in a sea container (black-market value about RUB 600 million).
The drugs were hidden in technical cavities; the container was scanned and searched with detector dogs under risk management.
Baltic customs opened a criminal case under Article 229.1(4)(b) of the Criminal Code; investigative steps continue.
