Heads of the customs services of Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan arrived the day before. On 10 December they visited the Peter and Paul Fortress and fired a ceremonial gun; delegations received shell casings inscribed “80 Years of Victory, 52nd JCC session”.
The meeting on 11 December was held at Smolny. JCC chair and FCS Russia head Valery Pikalyov opened the session, noting St Petersburg’s place in national history and the collegium’s role in a transparent business environment and modern customs technology.
Governor Alexander Beglov announced ten cars for the North-Western Customs Directorate and presented certificates to Pikalyov, who thanked him for strengthening the directorate’s logistics base.
Beglov was awarded the medal “For Strengthening the Customs Community” for assistance to FCS Russia.
